Character Name: Erichthonios
Character Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: Post 6.2 patch (After Endwalker)
Age: Looks physically around early 20s but he's ancient.

Background: Here.

Branded CRAU: Erichthonios' stay in this game wasn't for very long, and so not much about him has changed. What has changed about him is that he has had to experience what life is like without the use of magic and has had to deal with extreme culture shock of peoples who don't look, act or think like him. He comes from a utopic state where everyone dresses the same and there is no need for money or personal property. Needing to work to survive and not work to simply better society (because his needs were met) is something he was coming to terms with. Aside from that, he also found his relationship with his friend and canonmate Elidibus (Themis) deepening due to what was expected of them (sex) and so the two not only came to rely on one another but their feelings for each other is at the point of being in a relationship. They're just awkward and cringe about it.

Personality:

Erichthonios is quite kind and caring, putting the needs of others (and even their lives) before his own. He's eager to prove himself by helping those around him and compared to many of his people he's shown to be far more empathetic than the average Ancient. He is the type of person who would gladly give the shirt (or robe to be more specific) off his back to someone else if they needed it and he cares for the wellbeing of those he works for. He also cares quite well for the creatures that are his responsibility in Pandaemonium. They may be monsters and terrifying beings but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be treated with respect. Others see them as experiments but Erichthonios regards them as more than just that.

It also doesn't take much for Erichthonios to be loyal to someone. Once he is though he'll do everything in his power to stand by those he cares about. This is particularly true when it comes to those he works with in Pandaemonium, advocating for their lives to be spared and that the facility isn't immediately decommissioned when the trouble it is undergoing comes under review. While the easy fix to the problem of monsters and dangerous creatures running rampant in an experimental facility would be to just nuke it all that would, of course, sacrifice the lives of those still in the building. Erichthonios finds this unacceptable, emotionally attached to his co-workers. Others, of course, find it silly to have such an attachment. This loyalty quickly extends to Themis, a person who was sent to investigate the state of Pandaemonium, and he's eager to do whatever he can for him. His mother too is someone he's incredibly loyal to, even after her death. This loyalty only shaken when he finds out what she had planned for him while she was still alive.

Erichthonios has a lack of self confidence. One could even say that he doesn't exactly think all that fondly about himself either. As the son of Lahabrea, a well respected member of the governing body of their society and a brilliant mage, Erichthonios lives in the shadow of his father. His ability to use magicks isn't anything to phone home about; he is mediocre in every sense of the word. The only thing that he is relatively good at is using internment magicks, but even then he finds it hard to have confidence in himself in that field. Without support from his father growing up and learning that his mother only wished to have a child to experiment on, it shouldn't be surprising that Erichthonios has a bit of trouble finding good things about himself.

Erichthonios is a rather emotional individual, something that isn't exactly appreciated by their society. He becomes frustrated easily with himself and circumstances he feels powerless over and is quick to act without thinking things through more often than not. He is quick to anger and upset but he is also quick to jump to the defense of others, even if it's at a detriment to himself. Erichthonios follows his heart rather than his head, even if doing so doesn't always work out for him. This rashness leads to a lack of focus at times and clouded judgement.

Abilities:

Erichthonios, like all Ancients, has the power to wield what is come to be known as "Creation Magicks". Creation Magick works utilizing a mental construct or template of an idea, coupled with one's intention and use of Aether (FFXIV's version lifeforce/energy essentially) to manifest something into reality. As a race these beings were capable of manifesting new lifeforms and non-living things. As this ability is quite exploitable, it would have to be limited if regained.

Erichthonios' Creation Magicks would be limited as the only main source of Aether that could be extracted would be from himself (or others from worlds where Aether is a thing). This means that attempting to manifest something from nothing would be taxing and limited in scale. He would not be able to create any complex or large living beings, restricted to creating items that are not alive, small plants on a small scale, or small creatures (think insects, fish, little birds, lizards etc). He would also be able to manifest small quantities of food and drink but none of these items would really retain any nutritional value as he would simply be consuming his own energy. Lastly, he would not be able to use it to manifest quantities of gold or other precious gems/metals that could be used to be sold for money that would give him an edge over other characters.

Attempting to use this specific magick regularly to an over extended degree would result in exhaustion and an in some extreme cases an inability to use it for consecutive days.

His other abilities include being able to use fire and ice aspected magicks (either to burn or freeze targets), restorative magicks to heal wounds and he is able to teleport. He also, like other beings of his kind, would be able to turn raw materials into something else. (For example fabric and thread into robes.) What is Erichthonios' specialty however is Internment Magicks, which is just a fancy way of saying he's able to manifest chains and magically bind targets at will. Kinky.

Lastly, Erichthonios is able to turn into his "true form" - a reflection of what his soul truly is. The true size of this form is...stupidly big. So if he ever ended up in this state (which is unlikely unless it was triggered by an event as its seen as akin to being naked) he would be a far more respectable size.

Inventory: His black robes, mask, and belt made of crystals that hangs around his waist. (Basically what he's wearing upon arrival.)
